Obituary of John Edward Ramsey

RAMSEY, John Edward - (January 14, 1950 – December 11, 2024). John was born and raised in Sarnia, the fourth child, and only son, of John Hedley (1921-2006) and Gladys Beatrice (1923-1999) Ramsey. He is survived by his children, Sarah (Breon), Ruth Ann (Twyla), Jacqueline, and Ellen, as well as grandchild Abigail (Shayne). John is also survived by his sisters, Linda (Mario), Susan (Walter), and Patricia (Paul), and many nieces and nephews and their children. John was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, friend of Corunna United Church, and Brother of the Knights of Columbus. He had been a teacher with the St. Clair Catholic District School Board and was beloved by all his students.

He was a loyal friend, skilled woodworker, soup maker, storyteller, and loved to sing.

At John’s request, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 10 a.m. A private interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
