Obituary of Nanette Smyth

SMYTH, Eva Nanette - It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Eva Nanette Smyth, affectionately known as Nan, on October 11, 2021 at the age of 79. Nan’s passing reunites her with her beloved husband Bill, who passed in 2018. Nan could not wait to share another dance with Bill and her family is so comforted to know they are together again. Nan leaves behind her two loving and loyal daughters, Carrie Mousseau (the late Mark) and Charlene McWatters (Terry). Nan was the proud grandma of Mike Mousseau (Meagan), Marie Hull (Adam), Mark Mousseau (Rushika), and Cory McWatters (Dana). Proud great-grandmother of Brendan, Paige, and Zachary Hull and the newest addition, Liam Mousseau. Nan was loved and supported tremendously by her sister-in-law, Jackie Prentice (Gerard). She will be missed by her brother-in-law, David Smyth (Judy), and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nan was a cherished friend to many who shared countless chats and words of advice over many years of friendship. Nan is predeceased by loving in-laws Jack and Marguerite Smyth. Nan was a force to be reckoned with and all who knew and loved her describe her as a firecracker. She loved fiercely, possessed a powerful work ethic, and always trusted that God was guiding her life. Nan loved hosting family and friends in her beautiful backyard and spent many years building a charming home that welcomed so many. From sunny poolside visits to sidewalk chats as she tended to her lawn, Nan was always ready to share a story and a laugh with friends. Nan was an excellent seamstress, beautiful dancer, fantastic baker, and excelled at all things related to her immaculate lawn and impressive collection of seasonal decorations. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to be part of her life. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Bluewater Health who cared for Nan. Her hospital stay was short but marked by kindness, compassion, and care. Thank you all. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to McKenzie and Blundy. A private family burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 106 N. East St., Sarnia, N7T 3R1. Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com.
