Obituary of Helen Elizabeth Mutton
MUTTON (Glover), Helen, June 3, 1923-October 12, 2021 – Helen passed away with her family at her side at Bluewater Health on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Clifford Mutton (2008). Dear mother of David, Uxbridge and Barbara (Gary Morris), St. Catharines. Also surviving are her nieces, nephews and her dear friends she leaves behind. Predeceased by her parents Rev. & Mrs. John Glover, son Paul Mutton and infant children Mary Louise, Ronald and Elaine. Also predeceased by her brother Vaughan Glover (Dorothy) and brother-in-law Gerald Mutton (Mary). Helen began her teaching career at the age of 19 in Peterborough. She met the love of her life, Clifford at the age of 13 and they later married in 1944. They settled in Sarnia in 1948 and were active members of Central United Church for 72 years, serving in numerous capacities within the church. Helen was a member of the senior choir for 70 years. She was a highly respected and loved teacher in the community. After retiring in 1985 she and Cliff enjoyed travelling to many destinations. She was a Past President of the Lambton County Music Festival and a Provincial Past President of the Retired Women’s Teachers of Ontario. Helen’s family would like to thank the staffs of the V.O.N., Bayshore Health and Palliative Care, especially Fiona, Jill, Leslie, Mary, Sherry, Shelley and Sam. Also many thanks to Dr. Kim, Dr. Lilly, Dr. MacSweeney and her long time family doctors, Dr.Vornberger & Dr. Doyle. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Dunlop-Central United Church, 757 Rosedale Ave, Sarnia and will be officiated by the Rev.
