Dear Nancy, Ann, John and family,
We send our deepest sympathy to all of you. We also will miss Clem very much. In addition to all of his professional accomplishments, Clem was a wonderful friend and generous neighbour. He was a kind, warmhearted man with a brilliant sense of humour.
A few years ago, one of Clem's sisters told some of her friends that Clem's next accomplishment was to become a concert pianist. The friends remarked that they didn't know Clem played the piano. His sister replied, "He doesn't.!" Clem had been reading that the best way to keep your mind sharp was to learn a new language or learn a musical instrument. I was honoured when Clem asked me to be his piano teacher. Two of his favourite pieces were "When the Saints Go Marching In" and "You Are My Sunshine" which he loved to play for his dear partner, Nancy. Clem was also the organizer of our local Tuesday morning golf group which still continues to be such an enjoyable outing.
We will keep all of you in our prayers to be comforted by many beautiful memories of Clem.
