Obituary of Fr. Raymond Masse

     Fr. Raymond Jacques Masse passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Hospice in Sarnia on Monday, April 5, 2021. Fr. Ray was born on October 24, 1957.  Predeceased by his parents Arthur (2019), Ewilde (2004) and his brother Roger (2004). Survived by his brother Rene (Judy) and sister-in-law Linda. 

   

 Fr. Ray was ordained for the Diocese of London, Ontario on May 3, 1986 by Bishop John M. Sherlock.  He served as an associate in the parishes of: St. Simon and St. Jude, Belle River (1986-1988); St. Joseph Parish, Stratford (1988-1989); Sacred Heart Parish, Ingersoll (1989-1993); and as pastor in the parishes of:  St. Joachim, (1993-1995); St. William, Emeryville (1995-2001); St. John de Brebeuf and Companions, Kingsville (2001-2007), as Hospital Chaplain at Windsor Regional Hospital (2007-2010) and associate at the parishes of:  Corpus Christi, Windsor (2010-2012); St. Clement Parish, McGregor (2012-2018) and Sacred Heart/St. Michael, Sarnia/Bright’s Grove (2019-present).

   As of Thursday April 8, 2021 the Province of Ontario is in a lockdown state and per the provincial regulations, the church is able to have 15% capacity in the building.  Because of this, visitation for Fr. Ray will continue as planned. Visitation for Fr. Ray will be at St. Michael’s Church, 1920 Wildwood Dr., Bright’s Grove on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. Please note – for anyone wishing to attend the visitation-SIGN UP IS MANDATORY*** and masks or face coverings are MANDATORY. Private interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Tilbury.
