My sincere condolences to Ray's family and friends. Ray and I met and became good friends in our 5 years together at Tilbury District High School back in the 70s. We were in all the same classes, even study hall where we enjoyed playing board games. He was my spiritual advisor and confidant when we were both in Windsor. I was so happy when he spent a few months at my parish, St. Joseph's Sarnia, before moving to Brights Grove. I love Ray and I will miss him terribly.
Rest in Peace my dear friend.

My heartfelt condolences to Fr. Ray's family and friends.
Fr. Ray was with St. Michael's Parish for a short time. Yet, in that time, I was touched by his devotion, caring and compassionate nature, his humour and wit.
His sermons will definitely be missed.
Rest In Peace Father Ray.

Susan- I totally agree that Fr. Ray was gifted in breaking open the Word of God. I don't have a big vocabulary - but Fr. Ray would never use a big word without explaining it. He really knew how to defend the faith. Loved him and will miss him. Diana Coyle St. Clement Church McGregor.

My husband, Warner & I, parishioners of Sacred Heart, send our most sincere sympathies to the staff of both our churches and to the family of Father Ray Masse. Though we only enjoyed his ministry at Sacred Heart/St. Michael churches for a relatively short time, he left all parishioners with the image of a kind, compassionate, and musically talented priest. We shall miss him greatly but now he can share his talents with God our Father and His Heavenly kingdom.

Fr. Ray was a loving presence and such a kind soul. I remember especially his Masses at Twin Lakes Nursing Home. On one occasion in the midst of an extremely busy week when Fr. Mathew was away, he arrived and seemed preoccupied with how he was going to do all his duties. Once there, he settled into the Mass and serving the residents, and finished by playing piano for a number of them after the service. He brought beauty to them during the Mass and afterwards. I think for him music was another way of praying. I feel blessed that we were gifted with his presence in our parish. My condolences and prayers go out to his family.

St. Clement CWL passes on its condolences to the Masse Family on the recent and sad passing of Fr. Ray.
Fr. Ray was the best auctioneer at our Christmas Auction Fundraiser. He not only helped us raise money; he made us laugh with his great sense of humour! But we know that this world is passing and our true future is the happiness of heaven. Rest in peace Fr. Ray. Diana Coyle, CWL President

My beloved Fr. Ray - how I will miss you. I had hoped that when you retired you would return to McGregor and retire at our rectory. But God had other plans for you. Redemption through suffering. What a mystery. I am blessed for having known you. I know you will be truly happy singing with the angels! Rest in peace good and faithful servant. I hope you will be in the front lines to meet me when I am called home. Pray for me, as I am praying for you. Diana Coyle, St. Clement Parish,

Fr. Ray was kind & compassionate, I served with him in several ministries at the St William parish. Our most precious moment was when our daughter went up to him, wagged her finger & said “you pray for my mommy to have a baby”, we all laughed at the time but later we were blessed with the birth of twins, whom he baptized. He holds a special place in our hearts.

When the virus first began, I remember Fr. Ray phoning us to see how Joe and I were doing and to let us know that if we needed any help, he'd be happy to assist. He was very thoughtful and caring to his parishoners. We will all miss him and trust that the Good Lord has taken him to a better place.

Rene, Judy and Family
We are sending our prayers and sympathy to you all in the passing of Fr. Ray.
He was such a great person who showed great kindness and understanding to all he served. The parishes of Sacred Heart and St. Michael's have lost a great priest who served us all with love and understanding. He was often found in the church before mass singing and playing music and we all looked forward to the spiritual uplifting. He is in heaven singing with the angels now.
