As children we would sometimes quarrel of make comments about someone and my Dad would intervene by saying "If you cannot say anything good about someone don't say anything at all. Being the oldest lad, I had the privilege of spending time at his garage. Local old timers stood in the office commenting on the weather, on almost anything usual or unusual they observed. as children often do is argue about ...almost anything. His stern advice was that "if you cannot say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all. A disheveled young man, hunchbacked, made his way past the garage and each their turn commented on the young man. One of the gentlemen turned to my dad and asked him what he thought of the man and I waited to hear my father's comment. Rather than demean the man he offered "did you ever hear that man whistle?'' He said something nice; that was my dad.

Dear Aunt Tony and family,
We are very sad to hear of Gord's passing. He was a kind and gentle soul who always had a twinkle in his eye and took an interest in how others were doing. He got me a job at the bridge one summer, which helped me to pay for college. Seems like he has always been there and now he has moved on to heaven where he is smiling on all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as I'm sure you are missing him. May the thought that he is with the Lord now be a comfort to you all. All our love, Dan and Sandi Berube

Aunt Toni, Jimmy, Joyce, Diane , Billy and your families,
I hope my thoughts and prayers will ease the burden you feel during this tremendous loss. Uncle Gordon was a family pillar and so like his father. He stayed connected to his siblings in such a warm manner, even recently. His enduring love for Aunt Toni and his desire to be with her during his final hours speaks to his character. I know he will be sadly missed. Know that I am thinking of all of you.

On the afternoon of Sunday October 11th, the earth truly lost the most kind and gentle soul. A real gentleman, the true definition of the word. A man who loved his wife unconditionally for 73 years and valued his family.
Grandpa,
I will miss your soft, quiet voice telling stories about how you and Grandma met. I will miss the pride you showed when you'd talk about all your years served working at the Bluewater Bridge. You were an independent, hardworking, and honest role model. You will be greatly missed. Rest easy Grandpa ❤
