Obituary of Laura Anne Hardy
HARDY, Laura Anne (nee Greenwood) – With her family by her side Laura “Greenie” Hardy passed away and went into the hands of God at Bluewater Health on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the age of 61. Beloved wife of Michael Hardy. Loving mother of Meghann Nesbitt (Steve Nesbitt) and Kaitlyn Hardy. Dear daughter of Donna and the late Paul Greenwood (2007). Sister of David Greenwood (Janet), Stephen Greenwood (2019) (Margot), Lynda Miller (Jeff), and Marc Greenwood (Carla). Daughter-in-law to Dave and Betty Hardy (1985) and Betty Higham. Sister-in-law to Diane Taylor (Hank). Aunt of many nieces and nephews.
A true southender and graduate of Brock University, Laura taught for 31 years in the St. Clair Catholic District School board at the elementary level touching and influencing many lives. Once a Raider, always a Raider. Greenie’s true passion was sports, playing fastball with the Sarnia Belles, the Mudhens, and the Fossils, winning many provincial and league championship titles. Her later passion was playing volleyball and golf with a special group of ladies. She was an active member and President of St. Joseph’s CWL and the 4Friends (Mayor’s Honour List) Mitten Group. Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions a private family visitation and graveside service at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery will be held.
