Obituary of Robert Curtis Sassanella

SASSANELLA, Robert – Peacefully surrounded by his family, Robert passed away at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Patricia Palmer. Dear father of Lee Thwing (Don), Dawn Licht (Jim) and Kim Johnson (Craig). Loving grandfather of Donald, Craig, Robbie, Jennifer, Tony and Kim and great-grandfather of 9. Step-father of Mark Devereaux (Jan), Jane Karuhanga (Dave) and Dr. Simon Devereaux (Andrea).  Also surviving is the mother of his children Patsy Sassanella and many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by parents Samuel & Thelma Sassanella, brother Edwin and sisters Phyllis and Pauline. Bob owned Bob’s Bakery with his father in downtown Port Huron for many years. He was an award winning professional photographer for the Times-Herald and Chief Photographer for the Macomb Daily. Bob was the photographer for the Wertz Warriors for over 30 years. He also enjoyed working with his computer, playing the banjo and golf. Cremation has taken place.
