Obituary of Domenick Laurence Serratore

SERRATORE, Domenick Laurence “Larry” – Larry died at Bluewater Health on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Darlene (Marks). Dear father of the late Dean, Cory (Silvia Skobla) and Tracie (Michael Stanton). Loving Nonno of Cullen, Bronwen, Finn, Zeke, Zola, and Zeta. Brother-in-law of Madeline Serratore. Predeceased by parents Antonio and Angelina Serratore, brothers Frank Serratore (Shirley) and Joseph, and sister Kay Williams (John). Larry retired as a millwright from Fiberglas in 1991 after 32 years of service.

Larry was a lifelong member of the Dante Club and was proud of his family's role in its creation. He was a Sarnia Sting season ticket holder and a long-time fan of local minor hockey. Larry loved his tools and fixing things and could give MacGyver a run for his money in his solutions to problems. He may have been a man who literally wrestled bears, but Larry was known for having a big and charitable heart and many people were rewarded by his acts of kindness over the years.

Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
