Obituary of Joseph Euclide Theriault

THERIAULT, Joseph Euclide - Joseph died suddenly but peacefully at home on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Mary (Burger) for 61 years. Dear father of Paul (Shannon), James (Jennifer) and Susan Hodgins (Mike). Loving grandpa of Patrick (Grace), Andrew (Clare), Michael (Paulina) and Steven (Jayd), Rachel (Roman) and Emma and Lee (Julia), Tai (Thomas) and Matthew (Abby). Great-grandfather of Elsie, Emery, Sofia, Luke, Wesley and Elle.  Loving and dedicated brother to nine siblings, Raymonde (the late Rene Leblanc), the late Real (Betty), Denise (late Luke Charron), Bishop Donald Theriault, Sister Lina Theriault, Jon (Patricia), Peter (Gayla), Roger and Gerry. Also predeceased by his parents Raymond and Philomene.  Joe, the oldest of 10 children, was born in Paquetville, New Brunswick and lived there until the family relocated in 1947 when he was seven years old. The family then settled in Bluewater. Joe was a longtime employee of Imperial Oil in the Research and Development Division. He was an avid golfer and was a member at the Camlachie Golf Course for many years. Joe was able to enjoy this passion with family members and friends up until very recently. Joe also looked forward to his monthly poker nights with his brothers and “old cronies”. His grandchildren all brought him great pride and joy! One of his newest hobbies, that truly showed off his softer side, was cuddling with his great grandbabies. At Joe’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. with prayers being offered at 5:45 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11 a.m.  Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers please consider donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
