Obituary of Elena Antonia Benacquista

BENACQUISTA (MUSCEDERE), Elena – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elena Antonia Benacquista (nee Muscedere), July 26, 2024 at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husband Domenico (2022). Loving mother of Silvana Filia and Maria Di Murro, and dear mother-in-law of Andrea Filia. Much loved and cherished grandmother of Argentino Filia, David and Elisa Bararuk, Nicholas and Elena Cambiotti and the late Daniela Filia, Davide Di Murro, Paolo Di Murro, Sabrina Di Murro and Brock Allen and the late Angela Di Murro. She will be forever missed and never forgotten by her great-grandchildren Evangeline Filia, Julian Filia, Aria Bararuk and Ethan Bararuk. Predeceased by parents Benedetto & Cesidia Muscedere. Also predeceased by her brother Giovanni Muscedere and his wife Ida Muscedere, her sister Domenica Ferri and her husband Antonio Ferri and her other sister Domenica Gizzi and her husband Antonio Gizzi. She is also survived by nieces and nephews in Toronto and Italy. Her caring and her wisdom live on like a legacy of love that will always be with us. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be missed beyond measure.

Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. A private funeral service will be held with entombment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.  Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
