Obituary of Dennis Michael Shannon

SHANNON, Dennis “Den” – Den passed away at Bluewater Health Palliative Care with his loving family by his side on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn “Lynne” for 63 years. Dear father of Michael Shannon (Jill), Oshawa and Patricia Vowel (Jason), Windsor. Loving Grandpa of Paxton and Lexus Hummer and Nicole, Sydney and Keira Lynn. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.  Den’s life exemplified the best of humanity, and he lived each day to the fullest, always mindful of others through his kindness and generosity. The family is asking that in lieu of donations, to pay it forward to seniors. Bring presents to nursing homes for residents without family, rake leaves or visit a senior that lives alone.

He will forever be missed for his gentle heart, quiet sense of humour and his ability to always find the silver lining.
