My association with Clare goes way back to the late 60’s when i was a newby at Polymer and riding the midtown Polymer commuter bus to work each day.
Slim and i were both on 8hr shifts, me on the end of the line in Co-poly and Slim as the shift mechanic.
He would drive us to the plant and the trip as usually exciting since he was always critical of all the irrational drivers onthe road.
For us passengers it was always exciting and usually verbal exchanges were a norm on our way to and from wirk.
Having said that he was a true friend andalways in the corner with the workers perspective but also a diligent and supportive with what our job was.
Make rubber for a decrht wage and benefits.
I will miss him and his opinions and criticisms.
