Obituary of Barbara Therese Holman

HOLMAN (Goetz), Barbara Therese – Barbara died at Bluewater Health on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late John Holman (1981). Dear mother of Michael Holman (Monie), Mary Jo McLaughlin (Ron), Nancy Holman, Cathie Fergusson (late Jim), Pat Holman (Cathy) and the late Tim Holman (Michelle). Loving grandmother of Jason (Tera), John (Christine), Joel (Lisa), Mark (Deanna), Derek (Loretta), Michael (Carrie), Grant, Brock and Lauren. Great-grandmother of Aja, Elle, Jane, Mae, Hank, Jake, Laura, Carolyn, Mary, John, Gloria, Basil, Elise, Desmond, Joel, Charlie and Klarke. Also surviving are many much loved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Leo and Beatrice Goetz, brother George and sisters Betty, Mary, Nancy and Joanne.  Barbara was born and raised in Guelph where she met her future husband John. They were married in 1946 and moved to Peterborough and then Sarnia in 1947 where they raised their family. She was a long time cottager and vacationer in Southampton, ON, a place she dearly loved. There was nothing Barbara enjoyed more than playing cards with family and watching or listening to the Detroit Tigers games. She was always smiling and her glass was always half full. She had a wonderful sense of humour and a hearty laugh. Most of all, Barabara loved her family greatly and instilled her strong values in them. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Till we meet again Mom. Cremation has taken place.
