Obituary of Kay Elizabeth Williams
WILLIAMS, CATHERINE “KAY” (nee Serratore) – Peacefully with her family by her side, Kay Williams died on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late John (2017). Loving mother of Bryan Williams (Lori), London, Shelley Filia (Franco), Sarnia. Cherished Nonna of Elizabeth, Alexandra (Matt), John Anthony and Gabrielle Filia, Sarnia, Emmersen, Michael and Ethan Williams, London. Bisnonna to Matteo. Dear sister of Joe (Madeline) Serratore, Larry (Darlene) Serratore all of Sarnia. Sister-in-law of Carol (Marcel) Blais. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents Antonio & Angelina Serratore and brother Frank (Shirley) Serratore.
Many will remember Kay for her involvement with St. Benedict’s church. She was a member of the CWL, Secular Franciscans, and the first female member of the Dante Club. Kay was actively involved with COR, Cursillo, and starting up the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Kay organized annual retreats at the Capachin Retreat Center, and was a leader for Recovery Inc advocating for mental health.
She will forever be remembered for her kind heart, sense of humour, gentle nature and infectious smile. Kay valued family, food, and her faith most of all. The world was a little brighter with her in it and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. where Prayers and Rosary will be offered at 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict Church on Monday, April 24th at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
