Obituary of Roderick Morley Stokes

STOKES, Roderick Morley. Peacefully at home on Monday, March 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, Roderick “Rod” Stokes passed away at the age of 71. Beloved soulmate of Ann Marie (nee Cooke) Stokes. Loving father of Shea (Heather), Jared (Kari), Kail Stokes, and Caitlin (Nathan) Sowerbutts. Cherished grandfather of Laylah, Tenley, Meredith, Cameryn, Adele, and Cullen. Dear brother of Greg (Cynthia) Stokes, Jill (Dave) Rivers and much-loved brother-in-law of the Cooke Family. Survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Morley and Bette (nee Vansickle) Stokes, sisters Mary Margaret (Doug) Horner, Kim (Don) Smith, and his Guardian Angel daughter Talia (Mosey) Stokes.

Rod was born and raised in Sarnia and though he had many titles through his life, from manager to entrepreneur, his favorites were Husband, Dad, and Grandpa (Papa). He adored his wife, made lasting memories with his kids, and especially loved watching his grandchildren play sports, fish, and laugh at life . He enjoyed early morning coffees and rounds of golf. A loyal and brilliant man, Rod was well-respected by all that had the pleasure to know him.

The family would like to acknowledge all the staff at Bluewater Health, Dr. Kim and the Palliative Team for the continuous care and friendship provided to our father and family.
