Obituary of Loretta Anne Bailey

BAILEY, Loretta “Laurie” – God welcomed Laurie home while holding her daughters’ hands and surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the age of 71. After having great strength to survive 2 emergency surgeries in January and fighting for her life, she succumbed to a sudden complication and now Laurie joins her beloved husband Bert (2011). Dear mama of Tammy Leckie (Chris Moore) and Tina Leckie (Tim Heppler). Loving Nana of Jesse, Caleb, Darby and Koty. Great grandma of Lily, Layla, Violet, Wade and Luke. Sister of Frank McDonald (Lorraine). Sister-in-law of Ted Martin (Pat), Inez Dugas (Fred) and Jerry Bailey.  Also surviving are her loving cousin and best friend Sheila Levesque, many other cousins, nieces and nephews and Bert’s children and grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Edward and Rita McDonald and sister Shirley Martin. The family would like to thank Dr. Colin Way, the staff of I.C.U. at Bluewater Health and Matt from Bayshore Health for taking such good care of mama.  Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.
