Obituary of James Knowles

KNOWLES, James – Jim passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Denise. Dear father of Carol Morningstar (Jeromy) and James Knowles (Mark). Loving “Mangad” of Benjamin, Evan and Lily Anna. Brother of Steve (Helen), Robert and Sharon (Josh). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Jim & Joan Knowles and his granddaughter Abigail. Jimmy emigrated from England at the age of 29 seeking a better life for his family and never looked back.  With a bold voice, an unmistakable laugh and a magnetic personality Jim was the definition of a people person who effortlessly drew people in with his warm gregarious demeanor. Never to be heard uttering an ill word of anyone, Jim was a pillar of strength who had an uncanny ability to be a calming presence in the face of severe personal adversity. Having established two businesses, Jim spent the first part of his career locally in Sarnia and the second half travelling most of the US as well as overseas. Appreciating the simple things in life, Jim was a “grafter” who always kept busy building and creating the things he loved. In his downtime he loved nothing more than spirited conversation, a good pint and a “laugh and a joke”.  Jim had a deep sense of pride in his children and grandchildren whom he adored. Jim, and his adored wife Denise, were happy to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this past June surrounded by their family and close friends. A celebration of life will be held on December 10^th, 1PM to 4PM at Carol’s home.
