Obituary of Vivalda Michelucci
MICHELUCCI, Vivalda “Vivi” – Passed away peacefully Wednesday October 26th at Bluewater Health. Vivalda died peacefully with her family by her side, at the age of 85. Vivi was the beloved wife of the late Albo for 48 years. Loving mother of Fabio (Najma), Dino (Lisa) and Alba (Barry Koinoff). Proud Nonna of Anastasia, Felicia, Maximillian, Julia, Joseph, Cale (Jessica), Giuliano (Tiana), Marco (Kelsey), and Alex (Becky) Biznonna of Aurora, Violet and Enzo. Dear sister of Lorenzo Baiocchi (Daniella), Giulia Toschi (late Giuseppe) and Giovanna Bartoli (Luigi) all of Italy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Pistoia, Nave, and Porcari, Italy. Predeceased by parents Angelo and Angelina Baiocchi and brother Giovanni. Vivi, her adopted Canadian nickname, arrived in Halifax in 1956. Not knowing a word of the English language, she quickly learned it by watching TV soap operas and immersing herself in the Sarnia community. She soon met her lifelong partner Albo in Petrolia and they began a life of cherished & devoted love and embarked on their new beginnings together. Vivi’s working career at the former Sentry Department store located where today’s Supercentre is. The Lady’s department in Sentry was operated by the Reitman family from Montreal. She remained a loyal & devoted Reitman’s employee as Ladies Wear manager at Sentry then transitioning to the Sarnia Eaton Center and Lambton Mall outlets for 36 years until her retirement in 1986. She loved & flourished in the customer service part of her position. She reflected on the joys her coworkers and loyal customers brought to her life for many years after her retirement. Because of her broken English many customers and coworkers thought she was French! This led to her daughters-in-law addressing her as FiFi; a second nickname she cherished. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church.
