Obituary of Fernando Guay

GUAY, Fernando - With his family by his side, Fernando Guay died peacefully at Bluewater Health on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Mary Katherine Guay. Loving father of Linda O'Boyle (Dan), Cheryl Tsuyuki (Gary), Ted Guay (Lisa), Michelle Guay (Real Bedard), and Jill Prentice (Blaine). Cherished grandfather of Brett & Tara Nakamoto, David Tsuyuki (Tiffany), Katie Tsuyuki (Jamie Thompson), Michael Guay (Madison), Nick Guay, Sara Guay (Tyler Blough), Shawna McLeod (Wade Geddes), Leah Legault, Emily Butler (Dave Torrance), and Clara Prentice.  Great grandfather of Taylor & Devin Tsuyuki, Addison & Wesley Everett, Riley Thompson, Owen Blough, Noella and Trent Geddes, and Lili, Emerson, Finley Guay. Dear brother of Blandine Larocque (late Viennie), Maurice Guay (Lena), Colette Guay, and Diane Caux (Rejean).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents, and brothers Jean-Claude Guay and Bertrand Guay (Yvette).

Fern had great love for his family. He worked at Shell Refinery for 39 years, retiring in 1990. One of his great passions, ever since he was a young boy, was repairing watches and clocks which he continued right until his passing. The family would like to thank the Healthcare team and support staff for their compassion of Dad’s care. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated St. Thomas Aquinas Church on  Friday, September 30, 2022 at 10 a.m. Private interment to follow.
