Obituary of Amy Irene Martynse
MARTYNSE, Amy Irene (nee Devlin) – Peacefully with her family by her side, Irene Martynse died at Hospice of Waterloo Region, on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Arthur (2016). Loving mother of Bruce & his wife Jessica, Essex, Judith Sandison & her husband John, Waterloo, and Barbara Cook, Chatham. Cherished grandmother of Trevor & Daniel Martynse, Graham & Neil Sandison and Brandon Cook and Stephen & his wife Xana Ouellette. Great-grandmother of Miranda Martynse. Dear sister of Jim Devlin & his wife Lois, Kingston. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Arthur (2016), parents Herbert & Amy Devlin, her son Ronald, and son-in-law Peter Cook.
Irene was a full-time mother who loved to knit, sew, and do crafts. She was an amazing baker. Irene was an active member of the UCW of Dunlop United Church, where her apple pies were in high demand. Irene and Art enjoyed many trips in their RV throughout North America.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at both the Clair Hills Retirement Residence and the Hospice of Waterloo Region for their compassionate care of Irene.
Visitation will take place at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd, 431 N.
