Obituary of Rodriguez Bellavance
BELLAVANCE, Rodriguez “Rod” – Rod passed away peacefully at Marshall Gowland Manor on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty). Dear father of Richard Bellavance (Becky), Denise Broderick (Jerry) and Elizabeth Bellavance (Keith Douglas). Loving grandfather of Danielle Bellavance, Lee Bellavance (Bailey), Colin Bellavance (Kelsea), Jesse Ireland (Alex) and Kevin Ireland (Danielle). Step-grandfather of Meaghan Mott (Mike), Emily McLachlin (Shane) and Aiden Broderick. Great-grandfather of Jace, Hudson and Eva. Brother of Raymond Bellavance (Giselle) and Ursule Harvey. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Rod will also be dearly missed by Dean Ireland and his (Rod’s) caregiver Sharlene Sharpe. Predeceased by parents Louis De Gonzague and Laurette Bellavance, brothers Louis, Armand, Garnier, Jean, Rene and Lucien and sisters Germaine Therriault, Yvette Bellavance, Mary Rose Bellavance, Gertrude Beauchamp and Francoise Hachez. Rod came to Sarnia from Quebec in 1952 not knowing a word of English. He later founded St Clair Auto Repair in 1960, known today as CSN St Clair. His legacy continues under the care and guidance of his son Richard and his grandsons’ Colin and Lee. Dad was a devout Catholic, a man of integrity, a family man, an eternal optimist, a resourceful man who could always find a solution for any situation or problem. If you were fortunate, you had the pleasure of enjoying Dad’s prize winning homemade fudge! He will be dearly missed. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Saturday, Sept. 17th from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at noon on Saturday. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
