Obituary of Fred Lamourea
LAMOUREA, Alfred “Fred” Edward – Peacefully at Meadowview Villa, Petrolia, Fred Lamourea died on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the age of 100. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Cadotte) for 41 years. Loving father of David Lamourea & his wife Sandra, Corunna. Dear grandfather of Erin Lamourea (Paul), Adam Lamourea (Karli). Cherished great-grandfather of Violet & Farrah Lamourea and Lincoln Wildman. Also survived by a niece and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, his brother and sister.
Fred was passionate about life. He loved to talk with people. Fred loved to spend time golfing with Linda and woodworking. He also loved to travel across Canada with Linda. He was a WWII Veteran serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Fred was a bombardier, flying 32 missions in a Lancaster with Squadron 419. He was a retired Supervisor of the Printing Department of Imperial Oil. He had a passion for hockey and in his younger years missed an opportunity to show off his skills to a scout from the Toronto Maple Leafs because of the war. Fred continued to play hockey recreationally into his late 50’s. Special thanks to Lambton Meadowview Villa for the care that was given to Fred.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St., N., Sarnia on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 12:30 – 2:00 pm. A memorial celebration will be held immediately following visitation in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
