Obituary of Nancy De Sena
DE SENA, Annunziata “Nancy” – Peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022, at University Hospital in London, Nancy (Paolini) passed away at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Olindo De Sena (2002). Dear mother of Franca De Sena, Fernando De Sena (Maria), Marisa De Sena-Mallozzi (Joe), and Olindo Jr. De Sena (Marisa), all of Sarnia. Loving Nonna of Marcella Pacheco (Cliff), Elisa Munro (Tyler), Serena Mallozzi (Matthew Rose), Melanie De Sena (Aaron Dunn), and Stefan Mallozzi. Cherished Nonna to her great-grandchildren Mia and Max Munro, and Jayson and Rui Pacheco. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Predeceased by parents Luigi and Arcangela Paolini and in-laws Franceso and Luisa De Sena. Sister of Olindo Paolini (Livia), and the late Miminella Paolini, of Italy. Sister-in-law of the late Ennio De Sena (Gisele), Irma Persichetti (Jim), the late Terenzio De Sena (late Lidorina), Germena Mollicone (late Attillio).
Nancy was born in Casalvieri, Italy on March 4, 1934. She immigrated to Canada along with her husband in 1955, where they then settled in Sarnia. Nancy and Olindo Sr. were owners and founders of O.D.S. Printing and De Sena’s Travel of Sarnia since 1964. You could always find Nancy at the office, ready to greet you with a smile. Although very business oriented, Nancy’s love was her family. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Nancy had a passion for flowers and loved her gardens. Nancy was a ray of sunshine and a very elegant woman. Her smile and graciousness will be missed but lovingly remembered by all those whose lives she touched. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at University Hospital, the VON and Red Cross volunteers for the love, care, and kindness they shared with Nancy and her family.
