Valerie and I went to high school together. She was a fine person right from the beginning of her life.

I am so saddened to hear of Val’s passing! My condolences to you all.
She was a dear friend of my mother Susan Jackson - I just clued in that something was amiss when I did not hear from her recently.
Since my mum’s stroke a couple of years ago, Val has been a huge supporter and cheerleader- not only for my mother, but for me also. A remarkable woman!

Dear Lobato Family:
I met Esther in Mexico City at the University of the Americas around 1966/67 and immediately we became great friends. I was one of her bridesmaids and met your dad and her family in Tampico. Our friendship lasted many years and the last time Nick and I saw her was in Portland, Oregon {she came to a knitting workshop). She had an amazing, charismatic personality and spoke Spanish fluently. What is very odd is that about a days ago I was sorting a bundle of papers and I found this picture of both of us at her wedding.
Esther estará en mis oraciones y Jaime, reciban tú y toda la familia nuestro más sincero pésame. Nick y yo tenemos muchos recuerdos de ustedes.

So sorry to hear about Valerie's passing. It was so nice to meet her a few years ago and to be in touch by Facebook. I know how close she was to her family and how much she will be missed. I hope your memories help at this time. I have good memories from a trip to Florida with Val, Dale and Linda, all cousins in 2011. Her mom, Muriel was a first cousin to my mom, Alberta (Enter) Crawford.

Valerie was always warm and welcoming to me when I came to visit when I was growing up. She was always so good to me, even when I broke her tortilla press trying to crush hard candy! She always made me feel like another one of her kids, I have so many good memories of her. My condolences and loving thoughts are with your family.
