Obituary of Jeremiah Aloysius Coughlan

COUGHLAN, Jeremiah Aloysius “Jerry” – Jerry died peacefully with his family at his side  on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Marie Theresa (Lynch) (2004). Dear father of Catherine Betts (Denny), Deborah Fabbri (David), Gerard Coughlan (Debbie), Brendan Coughlan (Cathy), the late Martin Coughlan (2018) and Elaine Bauman. Loving grandfather of Andrea (Matt), Curtis (Kellie), Ryan (Jennifer), Sean (Jessica), Sarah (Jeff), Vanessa, Laura (Martin), Michael (Celina), David (Carlee), Steven (Krishna), Rebecca and Joseph. Great-grandfather of Sophie, Cameron, Presley, Grady, Tessa, Ellie, Rosalie, Declan, Paxton, Jaxon and Ava. Predeceased by parents Daniel and Cathleen Coughlan, brothers Joseph, Francis and Cornelius and sisters Celia and Mary. Jerry was born in Clonakilty, County Cork, Ireland. He emigrated to Canada in the spring of 1957 with his wife Marie and his 2 oldest daughters. They lived in Toronto for the first 2 years of life in Canada and moved to Sarnia in 1959 where they made their final home. Jerry was a very proud Canadian and a great source of knowledge, which he happily shared with his family. He retired from Catalytic as the Chief Senior Estimator, which included traveling all over North America. The most important thing to Jerry was his family. He will be dearly missed by his loving family in Canada and Ireland. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. with interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
