Obituary of Elias Stephen Kocso

KOCSO, Elias (Kócsó, Illés István) 

Peacefully at Bluewater Health, Elias Stephen Kócsó died on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the age of 85.  Beloved husband of Colette Kócsó.  Loving father of Christine Byer (Henderson), Guelph, Cecilia Quiñones (Aldwin), Cambridge and Carolynne Fyfe (Craig), Corunna.  Cherished grandfather of Destiney Byer (Dwayne Gittens), Scarborough; Trinity, Aiden, Liam and Keira Fyfe, Corunna;  Proud great-grandfather of Romeo Rodrigues, Scarborough and Easton Gittens, Scarborough;  Dear brother-in-law of Dierdre Humston-Coates (Robert), Bluepoint and Seán Humston (Grimsby).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Hungary.  Predeceased by his parents Illés & Margit Kócsó and his brother József and sisters Júlia and Helen.

Elias was a Chief Process Operator with Dow Chemical for many years.  He loved spending time tending to his gardens and was always ready for a game of darts or bowling.  

Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Simard at St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna on Saturday, April 23 at 12:00 p.m.  Cremation to follow.
