Obituary of Dorothy Bernice Butterworth
In memory of Dorothy Bernice Butterworth. (Scott, nee Turnbull) October 14, 1927- March 24, 2022.
Today we celebrate our love for our Mom, Gramma, GG, Dorothy Bernice Butterworth (Scott, nee Turnbull)). She was the rock of our family, always strong in everything she faced, especially after we lost our Dad, Marwood Bruce Scott at the age of 47. Elaine (Lanny) Marentette, Susan (Dennis) Gusba, Bob (Connie) Scott and Jim (Micheline) Scott and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren will have many beautiful memories of her.
She took pride in and loved doing her crafts, especially knitting, needle felting, wreath making, pottery making and sewing. She was always busy at one craft or other and enjoyed her weekly jaunts to sell her goods at the Oakland County Market or any craft show she could attend. She especially enjoyed being featured in an article in a magazine in Michigan.
She also adored watching many sports on tv and above all, her beloved curling. She took particular pride in being on the winning U.S. Senior Women’s National Championship Team one year.
Mom lived in Windsor, Ontario and Union Lake, Michigan for most of her life before returning to Corunna, Ontario. Everyone she met along the way would know her infectious laugh, sense of fun and zest for life.
She will be missed by all who knew her, but we all have many memories and stories to pass on and warm our hearts when we think of her.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com.
