Mary Kaye Madery

May 8, 1971 – March 6, 2022

If the Lord places angels upon this earth, then Mary Kaye Madery was one of them.  Cherished daughter of Marilyn & the late Carl Madery (1997).  Loving sister of Michael Madery & his wife Suzzanne and the late Andrew Madery (2013). Dear aunt to Sarah, Melissa, Eric, Vivianna and Gabriel. 

She has left a wonderful legacy of teaching many children and adults the important life skill of swimming as an instructor at the YMCA of Sarnia-Lambton and Goderich.  Mary Kaye was a vibrant, artistic, loving person.  She was a very talented artist and loved to paint, design greeting cards and garden stones.

Mary Kaye spent her last few weeks in the loving caring of the special staff, doctors and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice where she found peace and comfort.   She will always be remembered by her family, friends and colleagues she has left behind.  Mary Kaye had requested that in the summer, a celebration be held in the garden, under the sunshine, for all those whose lives she touched.  Further details will be announced at a later date.  

In honouring Mary Kaye’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private memorial service will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 Christina St., N., Sarnia, N7T 5W3, Sarnia & District Humane Society, 131 Exmouth St., Sarnia, N7T 7W8 or Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St. Clair Avenue Suite 500, Toronto, M4V 2Y7.
