Da SILVA, Albertino Augusto – Peacefully with his family by his side Albertino da Silva died on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the age of 80.  Beloved husband of 55 years to Maria da Silva.  Loving father of Joe da Silva & his wife Diana.  Cherished grandfather of Joshua da Silva, Alicia da Silva (Braedan De Lima) and Mikayla da Silva.  Dear brother of Hediuno da Silva & his wife Nele, Ottawa and Maria da Silva, Portugal.  Brother-in-law of Rosa da Silva.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Portugal.  Predeceased by his parents Luis & Candida da silva and brother’s and sister-in-laws; Manuel da Silva (Gilbertina da Silva), Clarimundo da Silva (Maria da silva), Evelino da Silvo (Lurdes da Silva), Laurentino da Silva and Isalino da Silva.

Albertino was born in Graciosa Acores Portugal and immigrated to Canada in 1976 with his loving wife Maria.  He worked as a Labourer and was a long-time member of Local 1089.  Albertino retired at the age of 62 in 2004.  After retirement, he spent 18 years doing side jobs to keep busy.  Being a loving husband, father and grandfather gave Albertino great joy.  If he wasn’t with the family, you would find him making wine in his special shed in the backyard or tending to his gardens.  Albertino loved to relax by watching Portuguese television with his wife by his side in their special chairs.  He enjoyed volunteering his time helping at the Portuguese Club of Sarnia and loved to make people laugh.
