My deepest condolences to the entire Gottfried family. My parents were good friends with yours, Joe and Toni. As a child, I remember the excitement building as your Dad/husband walked through the back door at my parent’s house. He was loud. He was funny. He always made a grand entrance. He looked so tall walking through the doorways at my parent’s house. He made such an entrance, it was almost as if the party was waiting to start until he arrived. Yet he was a humble man, caring and loving to his core. If he really had something to tell you, he would lower his voice and look you straight in the eye. He was sincere and “real”. He always had stories…and the laughter…he really was the life of the party. He had a kind heart and it was obvious that he loved all of you. His pride showed whenever he spoke of his family. He was very endeared to his friends. I remember observing Josie’s smile lines around her eyes when he made us all laugh. Her face lit up with him. I loved their visits! We were blessed to know him and to see all of you over the years. Those were very good days.❤️ - Lily Lenarduzzi (Maceyovski)

George, Steve, Anne ,Paul and Mrs.G - so sorry to hear that Hap passed on. He was a great guy, and I fondly remember our discussions about why he thought that the Ti-Cats were superior to the Bombers, back in the day. I'm sure he's tipping one back with Angie and Tommy Joe right now. Rest In Peace Big Guy.

Our deepest condolences to the Gottfried family on the loss of a wonderful man. Hap was always smiling, always friendly, and always happy. I asked him one day after Sunday mass if the nickname "Hap" was for "happy" because he was always happy. Hap knew everyone and if he didn't know you, he would go out of his way to add one more person to his large circle of friends. Our family will truly miss seeing him at Sunday mass (front pew, right hand side). His funny stories after mass and his laughter will always be remembered. He would always end the conversation and leave by singing to us "Go make a difference". Hap was a man who truly "made a difference"

Our thoughts & prayers go out to you Jodie & family at this difficult time.
The Gabriel,Franks & Gottfried families go way back many years. I remember the first time we met George when Jodie introduced us at our Christmas dinner. He was the life of the party & a “Hap”py go lucky guy, hence the name! I babysat George Jr & Steven when you lived on Prospect St in Burlington when I was in high school.
May the good memories you share be a comfort to you.
Sincerely Stephanie (Gabriel) MacDonald.

Jodie and Family:
Our deepest sympathy to you all. I have fond memories of the times Hap and you showed to the C.W. L. when I was president. The turkey pie making, playing Santa and all his jokes but the best was that great smile he always had. Love and prays to you at this time
