Obituary of Steve Legault

LEGAULT, Roger “Steve” – passed away suddenly at Bluewater Health on January 8, 2022 at the age of 60.  Cherished partner of Peter Raes.  Beloved son of Roger & (late) Ruth Legault. Most dedicated and caring father of Matthew Legault and his wife Diana. Treasured grandfather of Cora Willis and Meika Legault. Dearest brother of Kathy Watters and Patrick Legault, and brothers-in-law of Russ Watters and Russel Kavanagh.

Uncle of Misty, Jacob, (late) Aaron, Jefferey, Jessica, and Jauceline. Steve will be sorely missed by all. Also fondly remembered by Barbara (Jeroen), Dimitry (Bianca), Dion, Fabion, Eva, Frederique, Yanick, Allison, (late) Brittany, Madisyn, Brayden and Silas.

Steve was a dedicated CUPE member throughout his more than 35-year career as a custodian. He especially loved seeing the children grow and often spoke of them with great affection. His last years with the board were spent at St. Joseph's in Corunna. In his retirement, gardening became his passion. He would spend countless hours tending to his beautiful gardens and in the evenings, you would always find him admiring them with deserved pride.

He will forever be remembered for his open house policy that embraced strangers, welcoming them into his family. He unfailingly greeted everyone with open arms and a loving smile.

A Special thank you to the Staff at Bluewater Health. Your compassion and resilience in these times will not be forgotten. Stay strong.

Steve has been cremated according to his wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
