Obituary of Mark Steven Fleming

FLEMING, Mark Steven – Mark passed away at Bluewater Health surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Patricia (Devereaux). Dear father of Matthew (Kristina) and Michael (Jessica). Loving grandpa of Thomas, Christopher and Joey and Hewitt and soon to be twins. Brother of Gary Fleming, Karen Fleming, Wayne Fleming (Sharma), Zeta Fleming (Dave) and Bruce Fleming (Katrina). Son-in-law of Thomas Devereaux and the late Joanne Devereaux. Brother-in-law of Mark Devereaux (Marj), Jill Allen (Paul) and Joel Devereaux (Rebecca).  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents James and Sonnie Fleming.

Mark retired from Imperial Oil in 2016, throughout his career he worked as a process operator in various units, and finished his career as a pipefitter in the maintenance department. He spent years volunteering with Sarnia Minor hockey and enjoyed participating in various sports including volleyball, slo-pitch, and bowling. Mark was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Lions, and enjoyed cheering them on in their pursuits of post-season success, with one team bringing more joy than the other. Since retirement, he has spent his winters down in Florida where he exchanged his snow shovel for a set of golf clubs, and grew his passions for bocci and reading. Mark also considered himself to be an expert strategist in various card games, enjoying the friendly banter as much as he enjoyed the win. Mark will be best remembered for his unique sense of humour and quick wit. For those who knew him, he will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place.
