Obituary of Donald Alfred Clarke

CLARKE, Donald Alfred – Peacefully with his family by his side, Donald Clarke died at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the age of 89.  Beloved husband of Betty for 67 years.  Loving father of David (Tip), Toronto, Matthew (Irene), Sarnia, Geoff (Becky), Sarnia, Tracy (Jim), Sarnia, Greg (Sandy), Sarnia and Chris (Ingrid), Alberta.  Cherished grandfather of Brittany, Sean, Chelsey (Ken), Hillary (Peter), Derek, Josh, Samantha, Danielle (Carter). Proud great grandfather of Abigail. Dear brother of Bud Clarke (Nina), Kingston. Brother-in-law of Gordon Bate, Windsor and Angela Bate, Alberta. Predeceased by his parents Robert & Edna Clarke, his brother Bob Clarke and sister Pat Huegli. 

Donald worked in maintenance for DuPont for 31 years.  He was a coach for the SMAA for many years.  Donald was an avid woodworker, model builder and carver.  He also loved to sail. Special thanks to Dr. Lilly and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of Bluewater Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospice and it’s dedicated staff and to his health care worker Amelda.

In keeping with Donald’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to The McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia (519-344-3131).
