Obituary of Maria Brusco

BRUSCO (Ferrari), Maria – Peacefully, with her family always by her side, Maria passed away after a lengthy and hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease at Marshall Gowland Manor on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of Benito for 53 years. Dear mother of Adriana Brusco and Laura Brusco (Dominic D’Alessandro). Predeceased by her parents Antonio and Erminia Ferrari and her brother Angelo Ferrari. Also survived by her sister Anna Saurini (Fernando) and Vittoria Salustro (Renzo) and sister-in-law Antonietta Ferrari. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Maria was born in Vicalvi, Frosinone, Italy on March 6, 1948. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1957 and settled in Sarnia. Maria later married her love Benito in 1968. Her passion in life was her husband and two girls. Maria also loved to cook and entertain and always enjoyed hosting dinners and parties and dancing the night away with her family and many friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Rose Hall at Marshall Gowland Manor for their outstanding care and compassion to Maria and her husband.

Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 11-12:30 p.m. Due to the restrictions of Covid19, a private funeral service will be held at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum. Please note that masks/face coverings are mandatory, number of vistors at one time is restricted, be prepared for line ups and social distancing will be enforced.
