Obituary of Joseph Edmond Arseneau

ARSENEAU, Edmond (Ed) – Peacefully at Twin Lakes Long Term Care, Edmond (Ed) Arseneau died on June 21, 2021 at the age of 99. Beloved husband of the late Rose (Cloutier). Loving father of Yvette MacLeod and her husband John, Robert Arseneau and his late wife Joy, Yvon Arseneau, Irene Houle and her husband Marc, Rene Arseneau and his wife Anne, Paul Arseneau and his wife Tami, and the late Hank Arseneau. Proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 7 great grand-children. Dear brother of Gerald Arseneau and his late wife Charlene, and Jeanette Roy and her late husband Phillippe. Predeceased by his parents Henrie & Marguerite Arseneau and his siblings Rev. Leandor Arseneau, Roger (Eleanor), Adrian (Elizabeth), Leo (Joanne), Augustin (Augustine), Raymond (Thelma), Fernand (Dorina), Yvonne, and Patricia Leger (Herbert).

Ed will be remembered for his love of family, eye for detail in his handy-work, and countless nights playing his favourite game, Skip-Bo. He was a member of the carpenters union for over 50 years and retired at the age of 60. After retirement, Ed found enjoyment in knitting booties and hats with his wife, Rose, for babies in the Sarnia hospital, donating 1,800 pieces in total. He loved to tell stories, often reminiscing about his most innovative projects as a carpenter or his days living on the island. He will be missed greatly by all who know him.

Due to current COVID restrictions, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at Sacred Heart Church. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Please note that masks/face coverings are mandatory and social distancing will be strictly enforced.
