Obituary of Mary Simrak

SIMRAK, Mary - Peacefully with her family by her side, Mary Simrak died at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the age of 86.  Beloved wife of Janko Simrak for 56 years.  Loving mother of Mirra Lefort, Sarnia and Rob Simrak (Tammy), Sarnia.  Cherished grandmother of William ‘Bill” Murphy, Toronto, Jessica Murphy, Toronto, Jillian Lefort, Sarnia, Kylie Simrak and Jake Simrak, Sarnia.  Dear sister of Josephine Gustin, Stephanie Mavretic and sister-in-law of Dragica Tadic (Josip) all of St. Thomas.  Predeceased by her parents Mato & Slava Dusic, sister Barbara Mavretic and brother Lovro Dusic.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mary was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church and the Catholic Women’s League.  She participated in the Rosary and Prayer Group for many years.  Mary was an avid gardener and enjoyed her time with her coffee group friends.  Family was most important to Mary.  Her grandchildren brought laughter to her heart and time with them was very precious to her.  Mary had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand.   

Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Wednesday June 23, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Visitation is by sign up invitation only.
