We just read of Angela Wing’s passing. She was a close friend of my mother in law, Peg Taylor. Peg often talked about the friendship that they shared. Angela sounded like a remarkable person.
We continue to enjoy the beautiful cake plate that she gave us for our wedding.
Our thoughts are with her friends,
Rosemarie and Stephen Taylor

My family remember both John and Angela very well as they bought our family home on Brock Street N. i grew up in that home and Angela was gracious enough to show us through it many years later. I remembered it as being huge as a child.
A wonderful woman who will be missed.

Having lunch with Alexa this week, I recalled with pleasure our families' connections! My husband, David Young, taught both John and Tony to play the refurbished organ at Our Lady of Mercy Church; while John Wing Senior would always appear in the choir loft for the singing of the Easter Vigil. Alexa and my daughter, Mary, became close friends at St. Patrick's High School, where I taught. So I have come to appreciate the Wing family as a family much like our own. I can appreciate their grief at the loss of their mother! And I'm thankful that we have this faith that we share that keeps us in each other's care when we experience that final earthly loss, and have to wait for heaven!! So thankful to know the Wing Family! - Jo Young

Dear Paula, John, Richard, Tony, Alexa & families -
We were saddened to learn of your Mother's sudden passing. You are in our thoughts
& we send our sincere condolences.
Your mother was truly one of a kind - so warm, bright & simply full of life.
How she loved to laugh ! What a comfort to know she never lost that quality.
Reflecting on a lifetime of great memories, we " kids " clearly recall how much we looked
forward to visits from your parents –
whether at the cottage on Lake of Bays or at home in Windsor.
The stories, laughter - great fun indeed !
To all of us, Uncle John & Aunt Angela will always have a special place in our hearts.
You were blessed to have had such a matriarch for 90 years.
Angela's legacy will continue in our homes as well with some of her
treasured recipes that will be cherished.
Sending our love to all the family.

To Paula, John, Jr., Richard, Tony and Alexa: I just wanted to send my condolences to all of you. I was saddened to learn of the sudden passing of your Mother, Angela. She seemed to always make it out to any event involving the neighbourhood and was very affirming. We had a very special neighbourhood to grow up in and - if I may speak for the others - we are all thinking of you at this time of loss.

Angela & I probably met less than 10 times, yet we have kept in touch for 65 years! My husband & John were friends from before their school days. They both attended Osgoode Hall & became lawyers. Angela & I met at a law school function in the 1950s & have been in touch ever since. Each year I would look forward to her cards with the descriptions of the chaotic, fun & talented goings-on at the Wing household, plus her list of recommended books. Lately we have compared our lives during sporadic phone calls …downsizing from big houses, children, grandchildren, condo living, bridge - &, of course, books. We always had a laugh, & despite many differences, had much in common. She was a bright light in the world, an engaging personality & a wonderful, warm, human being. She will be missed by so many! My sincere condolences. Nancy (Cunningham)

What lucky kids the Wing children are. Your Mom was always all about you. Her pride and encouragement of each of your ambitions and talents was unmatched . One Christmas when you were all very young your Aunt brought your gifts to the office and we the staff wrapped them. Your Mom came over and helped and we had an amazing time. When I got married Mr and Mrs Wing came and gave Howard and I a magnificent paragon teacup and saucer which was highly prized as a gift and which I Iove to this day. Your Dad and Mom were so proud of each of you for your own gifts and personalities . You can never replace the kind of love you Mom had but you can embrace that you were the lucky children God gave to her. Remember her with the laughter she so freely shared. Know that there are so many of us that she touched and made a difference to .

Dear Paula, John, Richard, Tony, Alexa and families,
I was so very saddened to learn of your mom's sudden passing.
I have such fond memories of Angela. I will never forget my mother, Joyce, sitting at the telephone table in the kitchen (so 1970's!) laughing and laughing while speaking with Angela. Nobody could make Mom laugh like your mother. Angela was a true friend to Joyce, even calling me every year after she passed on her birthday, just to let me know she was thinking of her old friend. There is and will always be a place in my heart for your mom.
Hopefully these memories will bring smiles to your faces and some comfort to your aching hearts.
With love,
Julie (Bullbrook) Hislop
