Obituary of Nadine Fortin

FORTIN (Bateman), Nadine – Nadine passed away at Bluewater Health on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the age of 73.  Beloved wife of Ward.  Cherished mother of Marni Munsterman (Michael) of Braeside, Leticia Meadows (Mike) of Sarnia, Ward Vargo of Marysville, MI., and Suzzanne Sexton (Chris) of Port Huron, MI.  Loving grandmother of Rebecca, Hayden, Elizabeth, Skylar, Victorria, Kyle, Jade and Ivy.  Dear sister of Allan Bateman.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.  Predeceased by parents Dorthan and Coral Bateman, sister Ellen Stewart and brother Eric Bateman.  Nadine spent her career as an RNA devoted to the care of others.  Nadine was brave, fierce and compassionate, from working as an ER and maternity ward nurse and providing homecare for seniors, to being one of the first two women ambulance attendants in her small hometown of Leamington, ON.   She lead by example, teaching her children to be strong and courageous and that the bond of family reaches beyond mere blood ties.  The warm hugs and giggles of this beautiful soul will be missed by many.
