Obituary of Jacques Jean Paul Grondin
GRONDIN, Jacques Jean Paul – Peacefully with his family by his side, Jacques Grondin died at St Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Rita Marie Grondin. Loving father of Nicole Grondin-Hurak (Paul), Sarnia, Lise Anic (Nicola), Bright’s Grove and Jacqueline Kilner (Glen), Sarnia. Cherished grandfather of Amanda, Michael, William, Ashleigh, Abigail and Brett. Loving great-grandfather of Piper, Cohen, Hugh and Emryn. Dear brother of Gérard Grondin, Louise-Anne Landry, Ghislaine Goure (Bernard), Francine Drapeau, François Grondin, André Grondin (Kim), Jacinthe Desjardins (Ron), Yves Grondin (Peggy) and Denis Grondin. Brother-in-law of Léa Landry (Roland), Armandine Gray (late Robert) and Fernande Joncas (late Ludger) all of Balmoral, N.B. Predeceased by his parents Arthur & Elise Grondin, his son Michel (1969), his brother Gilles (2013), his brothers-in-law Léo Joncas (2009) and Raymond Joncas (2016). Jacques will also be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Jacques was a bus driver with Sarnia Transit for over 25 years. He was a proud 3rd degree Knight with the Knight’s of Columbus at St. Peter’s and St. Benedict’s Church since 1983. Jacques walked daily on the Bluewater Bridge trail where he would often meet with friends for a chat. He also loved his Sunday drives with his “girl” Rita. He was a family man through and through, enjoying visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as often as possible.
Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 7-9 p.m. Those wishing to attend must sign up by visiting this link: https://signup.com/go/aWrFkcK and booking a visitation time or by calling the funeral home at 519-344-3131. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Benedict’s Church. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
