Obituary of David Hogg

HOGG, David “Davie” – Peacefully surrounded by his family, David Hogg died at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the age of 70.  Beloved husband of Margaret “Tracy”.  Loving father of David Hogg and Derek Hogg.  Cherished grandfather of Ryan Chaput, Brett Hogg, Anderson Hogg and Chelsey Hogg.  Dear brother of Jean (Ian) Martin, Glasgow, Elizabeth Connelly, Manchester and Larraine (Richard) Irvine, Glasgow.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents James & Agnes, brother James Hogg and sister-in-law Anne Hogg.

Davie was a Senior Mechanical Technician with Waha Oil Company for many years.  He was a Mason.  Davie loved playing, coaching and watching soccer.  He spent many years playing for various teams in Baillieston, Dumbarton and the National Soccer League in South Africa.  Emigrating to Canada he then played with the Bluewater Blaze in what turned out to be the best of his soccer days, playing with his friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Cassandra Taylor, Dr. Julie Lebert, Dr. David Kim and the palliative care team for their compassion and support.  To Frank and Cathy Devlin, better friends no man could wish for, they were there for Davie throughout and never stopped in their support.
