Obituary of Lawrence James Reaume

REAUME, Lawrence James “Lonny” April 7, 1951-January 13, 2021. Lonny went home to be with the Lord at the age of 69. This colourful character will be dearly missed by staff and his friends at the Bluewater Health ACT Team, his supportive landlord Scott, as well as friends and acquaintances from the downtown core and Salvation Army. Although life wasn’t always kind to Lonny, he welcomed each day with a strong faith, grateful attitude and humourous demeanour. His giggle won’t be forgotten any time soon. Lonny didn’t have many possessions but always shared, saying “I don’t need much”. He will be remembered by his big heart: he would purchase new clothing one week, only for it to be gone from his closet the next, giving it away to someone “who needed it more”. He continually expressed his gratitude for the simple things in life; food, shelter and his faith. Lonny always had a pleasant greeting to share with anyone within ear shot. He loved watching/listening to his sports games. He had a passion for pies and desserts, fruit cocktail, grits, baseball caps and making collages. He will be missed for his phenomenal stories of his worldly travels and you could be sure about 75% of those stories were true. Due to the restrictions of covid19, a private graveside committal service for Lonny will be held at Resurrection Cemetery and will be officiated by Fr. Matthew Bedard.
