Obituary of Aileen Mary Barnes
BARNES, AILEEN – With family by her side, Aileen Barnes died on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus. Beloved wife of the late Donald Barnes & Marcel MacLellan. Dear companion of Gerrit “Harry” VanHoorn.
Loving mother of Susan (John) Rawson, Marion Brooks, the late Debbie Dunford ( Dale) 2012 and the Anne Barnes (2016). Cherished grandmother of Erica Barnes, Michael Rawson, Kelly Brooks, Christine Rawson, Amber (Andrew) Nutt, Kevin Dunford, and Jessica Dunford. Great grandmother of Braelyn Dunford Harding; Aiden and Asher Nutt. Dear sister of Anita (Phil) Davies, Doreen (Leonard) Paquette, Fran (Ray) Lapensée, Gary (Linda) Kensley and Linda (Michael) Ross.
Predeceased by her parents Bertram & Jeanne Kensley, and step-father Gerard Perron. 4 infant children of Marcel MacKellan, at birth and infant son of Donald Barnes, Gregory Barnes at 3 months old. Siblings: Della St.Hilaire, Cletus (Joyce), Clayton (Yvonne) and Claude (Janette) Kensley, Claire Santavy. She was predeceased by four infant sons with husband Marcel MacLellan. She was also preceded by children Gregory Barnes, Debbie Dunford, and Anne Barnes. Predeceased by grandchildren Jason Barnes, Justin Brooks, and Mackenzie Dunford Harding.
Her favorite pass times were dancing, bowling, golfing, puzzling and storytelling. She always loves to watch the Lawrence Welk Show. Her warm smile and sense of humor touched many and she will be missed greatly. She greatly adored and love grandchildren of Harry: Noah, Enola, Cedar, Liam, Quin, Gavin, Hudson, Fiona, and Hazel.
Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions a private family visitation and graveside service will be held.
