Obituary of Lodi Ryta

RYTA (PODLACHA) nee Krasinkiewicz LODI – Lodi passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Podlacha and the late Jan Ryta. Dear mother of Richard Podlacha (Shelley), Sarnia, Henry Podlacha (Maria), Wallaceburg, Stanley Podlacha, Sarnia and Roy Podlacha (Annette), Sarnia. Grandmother of Christian, Ujenna, Nicholas, Michael and Ryan. Sister of Henry Krasinkiewicz (Sophie), Corunna. Sister-in-law of Hedwig and Jenny Krasinkiewicz. Predeceased by parents Lucjan & Stanislaw Krasinkiewicz, brother John and Walter Krasinkiewicz and sister Ann Antolak (Joe).

Lodi immigrated from Poland with her family and eventually settled in Sarnia after the second world war.

She loved dancing and was a long-time member of the Polish Dance Group.  Lodi had also been an active member of the Catholic Women’s League.  As a devout member, she faithfully attended & supported Our Lady Queen of Peace church.

She worked for many years with her husband Eugene at Prestolite until its’ closure.

Lodi Loved God, Life, and Family making sure no one left her table hungry and always with a big grin. She will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.

Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, Thursday 6-8 p.m. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Please note that masks/face coverings are mandatory for all in attendance.  Maximum visitors at one time and social distancing will be strictly enforced .
