Obituary of William Grant Innes

INNES, William, Grant – Peacefully at Bluewater Health, William Innes died on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the age of 89.  Beloved husband of the late Linda Innes (2010).  Loving father of Cal Innes (Jenn), the late Corby Rae Innes, the late Duncan Innes and Kevin Innes.  Cherished grandfather of Erin Stratton-Innes and Duncan (Tess) Innes.  

William (Bill) played Junior A for the Brandon Wheat Kings, Pro Hockey in the BHL and the EHL and was also a Junior A lacrosse player in Winnipeg.  Bill was an avid golfer.  He loved to go out and practice for hours hitting balls and chipping and putting.  Bill also enjoyed curling at the Sarnia Gold & Country Club and in true Scottish manner, loved to have a couple beers after.  He was always happy to see people and stop to chat with them.  Bill worked until he was 77 for Johnson Controls and Local 663.  He just loved to go to work and meet people.  He missed his work right up to his last days.  Bill was always asking about his grandchildren Erin and Duncan.  He loved them very much.

In keeping with William’s wishes a private graveside service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd.
