Obituary of Pietro Lupi

Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday September 24, 2020 in Palliative care at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Pietro Lupi passed away at the age of 86. Devoted husband to Armanda (Cocozzoli) for 61 years. Cherished father to Anna (Robert Sr.) and Paul (Kim). Loving nonno to Robert Jr. (Brie) and Anthony. Dear brother to Gino Lupi in Italy and brother-in-Law to Maria. Also survived by his many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Loreto and Emilia Lupi, brother Umberto Lupi and sister Lina DiCarlo and her husband Antonio.

Pietro was born in Broccostella, Frosinone, Italy, and at the age of 26 got married and left Italy with his wife Armanda to go live in Canada.  Pietro enjoyed spending time with his family and had several hobbies. When he wasn’t making wine or tomato sauce you could find him tending to his garden and riding his bike around the neighborhood. He was always the supervisor for all family projects and enjoyed catching pesky critters that would try to get into his garden. He was a hardworking man who always put his Family first while also lending a helping hand to others. Above all Pietro was a gentle soul who brought strength and unity to our family. We love you and will miss you dearly.

Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday, October  2, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Please note that masks/face coverings are mandatory and maximum visitors at one time will be strictly enforced.  A private funeral service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel followed by entombment at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum.  As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 546 Christina St., N., Sarnia N7T 5W6, Canadian Diabetes Association, 2679 Howard Ave., Windsor, ON N8X 3X2 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 180-633 Colborne St., London, ON N6B 2V3.  Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
