Obituary of Amorim Espinola Mendonca

MENDONCA, Amorim Espinola – Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Bluewater Health, Amorim Mendonca died on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the age of 89.  Beloved husband of the late Maria Delurdes (2018).  Loving father of Manuel Mendonca (Fatima), the late Celeste Ramos (late Joe), and the late Gabrielle Stringer (late Steven).  Loving grandfather of Michael Ramos (Tammy), Tracey Ramos, Cassandra Michetti (Ryan), Amanda Johnson (Dave), Justine Petronski (Tate), Ryan Mendonca (Marie), Lyndsay Lajoie (Justin) and Tyler Cossette. Great-grandfather of Austin, Miguel, Faith, Faye, Grayson, Landon, Hudson, Madden, Hadley, Lane, Ivy, Eli, Violet, Isabella, Olivia, Christian, Amelia and Noah.  Dear brother of Generosa (late Benardinho), Portugal.  Brother-in-law of Durvalina Espinola (late Frank).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Portugal.  Predeceased by his parents Alexorino & Ermelinda Espinola and his brothers Manuel Espinola (Alechandrina) and Abel Espinola (Maria).  Amorin was a hard working man.  He loved to tend to his garden and his fruit trees when time allowed.  Spending time with his family was very important to him.  Amorim was a very generous man, always willing to help those who needed it.  Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Please note that masks/face coverings are mandatory and maximum visitors at one time will be strictly enforced.  Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
