Obituary of Sophie Chumko

CHUMKO, Sophie  

A ray of sunshine fell upon my face and I knew our Sophie was smiling at us today. Sophie went to her dear Lord from Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the age of 92. She was a beautiful person and a cherished friend to all. She was a wonderful sister to Emily Lambert, Minnesota/Sarnia and sister-in-law of Helen Chumko, Waterloo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Mary & John Chumko, sisters Katherine Romanchok and Jessie Mazurkewycz and brothers Nicholas, Michael and John Chumko. Sophie was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a member of the Catholic Women's League. Due to the restrictions of Covid19, a private family Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church with interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia.
