Obituary of Thomas Dawson

 DAWSON, Thomas Henry – Thomas passed away at Bluewater Health on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Lorraine Dawson (Forrest) and Jacqueline Dawson (Hills). Loving father of Mark Dawson (Tracy), Patricia Dawson, Philip Dawson, Brenda Hewitt (Robert) and Tim Dawson. Step-father of Ernie McFarland (Mary), Debbie Crowe (Tony) and Paul McFarland (Karen). Grandfather of Michael (Sarah), Matthew, Natasha (Ken), Katya and Rocco. Step-grandfather of Grant, Steve, Anthony, Megan and Chelsea. Great-grandfather of Sloane. Predeceased by parents Arthur (a veteran of the Boer War) & Minnie Dawson and sisters Helen Dawson and Elsie Oravec (Paul).

Thomas attended Clark Elementary School and S.C.I.T.S. He worked at Polymer/Polysar for 35 years (accumulating 1,000,000 hours). While attending high school, Thomas walked from his home on Michigan Ave to the CN railroad tracks to light lanterns as a part time job. He was very involved in the local and provincial lacrosse communities as well as a soccer, swimming and track coach. Thomas was active with the Sea Cadets, Navy League, Royal Canadian Legion and the Mariner’s Service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. The family would like to thank the emergency/ICU doctors and nurses of Bluewater Health. Due to the restrictions of Covid 19 a private family interment will take place.
